Things happen to the nicest people - Be Prepared

Summertime Preparation in the event of an Automobile Accident
On the up side, summertime can be great for cruising around town in your car. Moonroof or windows open, (maybe not) and the radio cranked up. On the downside summer also means more drivers on the road and, because of this, more potential hazards and accidents.

We want you to know the steps you should take if you find yourself in an automobile crash? Here’s a list of actions you should follow immediately after being involved in a crash.
• The first step you should take in any automobile accident, if possible, make sure every party involved in the crash is safe. If someone has sustained an injury, call 911 immediately.
• Use your cell phone to take photos of the crash site, the more detailed the better. Include photos of all cars involved, and give an official account of the incident to local police. By doing this, official records are kept of the accident for later use.
• Swap contact information and insurance details with the other drivers in the crash. This will be especially helpful for insurance companies in tracking down the other parties in a timely fashion.
• Report the accident to your insurance agent immediately. You should also have your car inspected by an adjuster soon after the crash to help determine insurance rates and repair costs.
Hendrick Honda Bradenton’s service department is ready to assist you this summer with everything from scheduled maintenance to detailed repairs and installations of accessories.
Be sure to contact us for more information, or to schedule an appointment. Please remember these tips to ensure safety and efficiency in the aftermath of an accident, and be safe on the roads this summer! And PLEASE pass this information on to your friends and family members.

Have a Safe and Enjoyable Summer!

Honda once again justly deserved - Best Retained Value Award

In this year's fourth annual Best Retained Value Awards, Honda and Acura win the award.

This means that Honda owners can once again be confident that they made the right choice
for the right reasons.

Honda, Acura Earn Edmunds’ Best Retained Value Awards
June 17, 2014

Honda and Acura are the brands and have the models that have the highest projected residual values after five years. This based on their average “cash” True Market Value (TMV) price during their first five months in the market.

Honda took the award in the nonluxury division. And Acura took the luxury crown with it's projected five-year residual value. Respectively 50.9% and 45.4%. This is the third time time that each brand took Edmunds.com's top prize. The award was launched for the first time in 2011. Together with total cost of ownership and 'residual value' this would suggest a marketplace that is as much focused on the financial aspect of it's investment as it is in the performance, engineering, safety and comfort and convenience of a car investment.

We've held that the value of your car at the end is just as important as what you pay for the car in the beginning.

Yikes! more gizmos and gadgets?

Gizmos and Gadgets. The words are often synonymous with 'junk'. Needless add-ons that barely serve a useful
purpose, and certainly not an essential one. Moral: "Buyer Beware". In today's
automobile marketplace I'm a little concerned with GAG overload.

Clearly some GAGs have become essential not only for the functionality they provide, but for the safety
of the user and the viability of the product.

Take 'Bluetooth' as an example. Not only does it provide the functional
capability to speak conveniently 'hands free' but with that there's a incremental improvement in
driver safety. And furthermore a car without Bluetooth today is obsolete.

So let's call that an essential GAG.

Then there are other features/functions that are pure GAG in the purest sense of the word.
Just something to capture the attention of the market. A differentiator that is not required
for sure, nice to have maybe.

Novelties so to speak.

Like a beer glass with a built in bottle opener. Novel but not essential.

Honda cars are customer oriented in their design where the 'form follows function'
axiom holds true. Here's a simple framework for that form and function:

1) Quality and Durability
2) Safety and Security
3) Performance and Engineering
4) Comfort and Convenience

Pretty darn straight forward and all inclusive. Each and every feature and function
on a Honda Car or Truck will fit into one or more of these categories. And each
category maps to a Customer's Motivation
