Honda to Debut 2012 CR-V, 2013 Fit EV at LA Auto Show

Oh Yes! This 2011 Honda CR-V Concept
(what we expect to see as the 2012 CR-V)
may be exactly what we've all been waiting
for!!!

Honda has kept things simple and clear with their debuts at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, schedule for next month. At the event, the Japanese automaker has promised to bring not only the 2012 CR-V, but also a production version of the 2013 Fit EV, which also made its debut in concept form in LA last year.

“With a new design—both inside and out, new features and new possibilities, the 2012 CR-V will set a new standard for the class,” Honda says on its official website. “As a top-selling crossover for over five years, expectations for the 2012 CR-V are high and we're confident they will not only be met, but exceeded. Much more will be revealed over the next several months.

"The body of the new CR-V will see much more aggressively shaped than the previous generation, but the biggest changes have to be what’s happening under the bonnet and on the inside. The US engine range will see a new 2.5-liter four-cylinder being introduced, while a third bench should be introduced, making room for seven people, thanks to "a more accommodating and spacious design."The CR-V will still be offered with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine, but according to recent spec sheets the power has dropped slightly from 180 hp to 175 hp. As for the new 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that will churn out 201 horsepower in the 2012 Honda model. Like the much criticized new Civic, the CR-V will keep offering a five-speed automatic instead of newer six-speed units that are leading the industry. As for the Fit EV, which should enter production next year, it will be powered by a lithium-ion battery and a version of the electric motor used in the automaker's FCX Clarity fuel cell vehicle. The range should be 100 miles (160 km) and the car will be able to reach a top speed of 100 miles per hour (160 km).

Our Thanks and Prayers to The Dan Weldon Family

Dan Wheldon was a mainstay of the Honda IndyCar program from his debut in 2003 with Andretti Green Racing. In 134 IndyCar race starts, he won 16 times, and recorded 93 top-10 results. Wheldon won the Indianapolis 500 for the first time in 2005, going on to win the series championship that year, and won the '500' again earlier this year. He also scored Honda's first IndyCar victories at Twin Ring Motegi in Japan, winning at the Honda-owned circuit in 2004 and again in 2005.

Erik Berkman (President, Honda Performance Development) on the loss of Dan Wheldon: "For everyone in the Honda family, this is a day of tragedy and incalcuable loss. For us, Dan was more than a driver, he was a member of the Honda family. But most of all, our thoughts and prayers go out to his family, wife Susie and two young sons. Dan had a passion for motorsports and a wonderful personality that made him a friend to everyone in the racing community. His talent and dedication were an inspiration to us all. We will miss him terribly, and everyone at Honda extends our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and fans across the world."

The Power of Dreams - Revisited

Honda is a company founded by a dreamer. It is a company that believes in the Power of Dreams. In that spirit Honda has created a series of short films that celebrate the people that have those dreams. People who have the courage to dream, to follow their dreams, to face failure and overcome it, and to turn failure into success.

Some people in this documentary you may recognize, some you may not know. But we can all learn and grow from their lessons. Empowered by their deeply held beliefs and guiding philospohies, these people make the impossible real.

From creative visionaries like Deepak Chopra, to Honda engineers, F1 racecar drivers to scientists, the people featured in these films are living the Power of Dreams everyday. Proof positive that there is indeed power embodied in your dreams.

Your dreams can be used to change your life. To see a version of future, to solve challenging problems and to see new ways to take advantage of the many opportunities that life presents. Many people find their most creative ideas unfold in their dreams. They sleep with a notebook, journal or sketchbook by their side. Not a bad idea.

One can travel the world in a dream, or find new motivation actually to do so. One can role play a course to fulfill their aspirations, or go introspective about their life and their future. In this way dreams can be a tool to visualize. In sports, in business, in every walk of life, as if a practice session, a dress rehearsal...dreams provide a nonintimidating to test the waters of a new adventure or challenge.

We believe in the Power of Dreams here at Honda Cars of Bradenton. Home of the Real Deal. Where Real Deals lead to the realization of your Real Dreams.

Inquiring minds want to know 'your' good reasons....

We really want to know YOUR reasons to buy a Honda Car or Truck. In Honda's most recent ad campaign our 'celebrity' spokesperson presents the rational reasons one might choose to buy a Honda Accord, Civic Pilot, CR-V, Odyssey or Fit. In these commercials we go on to cite 3rd party sources like Edmunds, Kelly Blue Book and JD Powers. Accolades for the Honda product abound.

But what's most important to us, here at Honda Cars of Bradenton, is what your reasons are. A one liner will do and be much appreciated.
