2015 Honda HR-V - Next Generation

Introducing the Honda HR-V, a dynamic, fuel-efficient small SUV with sleek styling and next-generation connectivity. This all-new vehicle recently made its world debut at the New York Auto Show. Its clean character lines are complemented by hidden rear door handles, giving the SUV a sporty presence.

As part of Honda's light-truck lineup, the HR-V is built on a unique center-tank layout and offers a versatile, spacious interior. It's equipped with the Honda-exclusive Magic Seat®, so you can fold the second-row seat completely flat for added cargo space and greater flexibility. Smaller than the CR-V, the HR-V SUV is an ideal size for both city streets and mountain roads.

Honda Joins EPRI, Utilities and Automakers to Help Create an Open Grid Integration Platform for Plug-in Electric Vehicles

"This project is an important step in enabling plug-in vehicles to reach their potential as a valuable distributed resource that can increase grid stability, improve power quality and reduce demand peaks," said Steven Center, vice president of the Environmental Business Development Office at American Honda. "Honda is participating in several projects aimed at accelerating vehicle-to-grid integration, which has the potential to reduce the total cost of owning a plug-in vehicle while enabling higher concentrations of renewable energy."

Project seeks to develop a streamlined platform for vehicle-grid functionality that can help create value for drivers, improve grid reliability and reduce GHG emissions

Honda pioneered a similar demonstration effort with IBM and PG&E (V1G)

Honda is participating in a vehicle-to-grid (V2G) demonstration with the University of Delaware and NRG Energy

And other lists say it all. Top Safety Pick+ (plus!!!)

Honda Accord and Odyssey Named Best Family Cars for 2014 by Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com

Accord recognized as one of the top family sedans for the second straight year by parenting and car experts
Odyssey featured in Best Minivan category on annual list

The 2014 Honda Accord (www.automobiles.honda.com/Accord) and 2014 Odyssey minivan (www.automobiles.honda.com/Odyssey) have both been named to the 10 Best Family Cars list compiled by the experts at Parents magazine and Edmunds.com. The two family-friendly Honda vehicles – each earning the highest possible rating of TOP SAFETY PICK+ from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) - were selected out of hundreds of models for excelling in the key areas of safety, convenience features, performance and value.

Some Lists You Don't want to be on.

Recent crash tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety indicate that smal cars had a tough time in passing

12 mostly small cars were crash-tested and the results weren't weak to say the best. Four cars were rated poor overall, two were marginal and five passed in the small overlap crash test, according to IIHS. The best performer of the pack was the Mini Cooper Countryman, the only one to rate "good."

The small overlap carsh test is meant to replicate hitting a pole or a glancing blow head-on with another car.

Honda's small cars were not listed in the test. I wonder why?

Here is how those that were tested ranked:

Good:

Mini Cooper Countryman

Average:

Chevrolet Volt, Ford C-Max Hybrid, Mitsubishi Lancer, Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ.

Marginal:

Hyundai Veloster; Scion xB

Poor:

Nissan Leaf, Nissan Juke, Mazda5; Fiat 500L
