Honda set an all-time December sales record to help register its second-best annual sales total ever in the U.S. - 1,359,876 units-an impressive 7.4% more than in 2012!
Sales Highlights
• CR-V is the bestselling SUV in the U.S.-period-with annual sales topping 300,000 (303,904 total units) for the first time. (CR-V joined Accord and Civic in the 300,000 club).
• Accord sales were up 10.5% over 2012 to 366,678 units-Accords best showing since 2008. Accord beat key rivals, including Nissan Altima, Ford Fusion, Hyundai Sonata, Chevrolet Malibu and Kia Optima. (Only Toyota Camry sold more total units in the segment –and Camry’s numbers include many fleet sales.)
• Civic sales were up 5.7% to 336,180 units, Civics best result since 2008, and the third best in its 40-yrear history.
• Odyssey sales surged 32.7% in December for a yearly total of 128,987 units-more than Chrysler Town & Country and Toyota Sienna.
• Pilot sales rose 10.3% to 126,678 units.
So many factors contribute to 'record setting' sales numbers. First and foremost is our customer base. And that customer loyalty results in many repeat sales. New Honda owners will likely become loyal Honda customers in short order. Then there is Product. The Honda brand carries a profound sense of Quality, Safety, Comfort, Performance, to name a few of the factors that drive product design and delivery.
